Yuya Ishii (director)
Yuya Ishii (born 1983 in Saitama Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese film director, writer, editor, producer and actor. He has been active since 2005. He is best known for The Great Passage (2013), which earned him Best Director at the Japanese Academy Awards, and he also won Best Director at the 2010 Blue Ribbon Awards.
He was married to actress Hikari Mitsushima from 2010 to 2016. He married Itsuki Sagara in 2018.
