Mezquita de Jarque
Mezquita de Jarque (Aragonese: Mezquita d'Exarc) is a small municipality in Teruel province, Aragon, Spain. It covers about 31 square kilometers and sits at 1,251 meters above sea level. As of January 1, 2025, about 83 people live there. It lies roughly halfway between Teruel, the provincial capital, to the west, and Alcañiz to the east. Each June, the village hosts the Tamborile street music festival. The community has faced population decline due to the end of mining and changes in farming, but it is moving forward with investment in renewable energy in the area.
