Melicope jonesii is a tree in the citrus family that is found only in north‑east Queensland, Australia. It can grow up to about 35 meters tall. The leaves are opposite and divided into three leaflets on a long stalk. Each leaflet is oval-shaped and fairly large. The small flowers are greenish or cream and grow in short clusters in the leaf axils; they have four stamens and four petals. Flowering happens in January and February. The fruit is made of up to four small pods fused at the base, containing shiny black seeds. The species was described in 2001 by T. G. Hartley, and the name honors William T. Jones. Melicope jonesii lives in rainforest at elevations of about 720 to 1,000 meters, from near Daintree National Park to near Ella Bay National Park. It is listed as least concern by the Queensland Government.
