Genesis: The Creation and the Flood
Genesis: The Creation and the Flood is a 1994 Italian-made TV film directed by Ermanno Olmi. Shot in Morocco, this 101-minute movie retells the Book of Genesis: God creates the world, Adam and Eve are tempted and banished, Cain kills Abel, and humanity grows corrupt. Noah and his family build an ark to survive a coming flood. The story is told by an old desert shepherd who shares it with his Bedouin family, with his young grandson listening. The film includes some modern warfare footage to illustrate human evil and adds a few short passages from other biblical texts. It largely follows Genesis chapters 1–9, with a few extras. It stars Bedouin actors including Omero Antonutti, Annabi Abdelialil, Sabir Aziz, Haddou Zoubida, and B. Haddan Mohammed. The Italian title is Genesi: La creazione e il diluvio; it is also known as The Bible: Genesis in Australia.
