Matagorda County Monument
Matagorda County Monument is a historic sculpture in Bay City, Texas. It sits at 1700 7th Street and covers less than an acre. Built in 1937 as part of the Texas Centennial monuments program, it was designed by architects Page & Southerland and sculptor Raoul Josset. The monument was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 19, 2018, with the reference number 100002351. It is part of the Monuments and Buildings of the Texas Centennial Multiple Property Submission.
