Mario Tokić
Mario Tokić (born 23 July 1975) is a Croatian football manager and former player who played as a defender. He began his professional career with Rijeka in 1992, making 134 league appearances and scoring 5 goals until 1998. He then played for Dinamo Zagreb from 1998 to 2001, recording 64 appearances and 1 goal. In 2001 he moved to Grazer AK in Austria, where he played 133 league games and scored 4 goals until 2005. While at Grazer AK, he scored a notable goal against Liverpool in a Champions League qualifier, though the team lost the tie 2-1. He joined Austria Wien from 2005 to 2007 (60 appearances, 3 goals), then Rapid Wien from 2007 to 2009 (43 appearances, 1 goal). He finished his playing career with NK Zagreb (2009–2011), making 36 appearances. In total, he had 471 club appearances and 13 goals.
Internationally, Tokić earned 28 caps for Croatia from 1998 to 2006, scoring no goals. He was part of Croatia’s squads for Euro 2004 and the 2006 World Cup but did not play in either tournament. His debut came in September 1998 against the Republic of Ireland, and his final international match was in June 2006 against Spain.
As a manager, Tokić was appointed the head coach of NK Lokomotiva Zagreb in July 2016 after the sacking of Valentin Barišić. He remained in charge until December 2017, when he was dismissed.
