Marcel Henri Claude Reyes, born February 26, 1957 in Santiago, Chile, is an economist, academic, and political activist. He ran as an independent candidate for president in the 2013 Chilean election, with support from the Humanist Party.

Education and early life: He earned a degree in economics from the University of Chile in 1982. He studied at the Université catholique de Louvain in Belgium, where he earned a Master of Arts in 1987 and pursued doctoral studies in economics. He has been married to Oriella Celsi Tasso since July 25, 1986.

Career: Claude worked at the Central Bank of Chile from 1983 to 1995 as an economic analyst, writing reports on external debt and other topics. He also taught economic development at the Catholic University of Valparaíso. In 1997 he founded the Terram Foundation to promote sustainable development in Chile. In April 2003 he became the executive director of Oceana’s Office for South America and Antarctica.

Politics: He has been part of the Independent Pro-Humanist Party since 2013. Earlier he was involved with the Party for Democracy (1990–1995) and the Christian Democrat Youth of Chile (until 1973).

Personal: He lives in Santiago, Chile.
