Maiju Ruotsalainen (born 25 November 1983 in Tampere, Finland) is a Finnish former footballer and current coach. She played mainly as a midfielder and forward and represented the Finland women’s national team.

Club career
Ruotsalainen started her career in Tampere with Ilves, then played for MPS and HJK in Helsinki. She spent four seasons with FC Honka in Espoo, had a spell in Denmark with Vejle, and played for Åland United in Finland (with a loan to Torres in Italy in 2010). In 2013 she trialed with Doncaster Rovers Belles in England but returned to Åland United. Later she left Åland United and went back to Ilves to take up a youth coaching role.

International career
She earned one cap for Finland in 2012 at the Cyprus Cup, coming on as a late substitute in a 3–1 loss to England.

Managerial career
After her playing days, Ruotsalainen coached Ilves youth and Åland United, and served as an assistant coach for the Finland women’s national team from 2017 to 2019. She also worked with Umeå IK’s youth team in Sweden (2019–2020) and managed AIK in Sweden (2021–2022).
