Manfred Noa was a German film director who later worked as a film and art director, mainly on historical films. He was born on March 22, 1893, in Berlin, and died on December 5, 1930, in Berlin, at age 37 from peritonitis. His career spanned from 1916 to 1930, and he had a sister named Loo Hardy.

Vilma Bánky, who starred in his films twice, called him her favorite director. His 1924 film Helena is seen as his masterpiece, though it was so expensive that it hurt Bavaria Film financially. Today he is best known for the 1922 film Nathan the Wise, an adaptation of Gotthold Ephraim Lessing's play that promotes religious tolerance. He was the third husband of actress Eva May, daughter of director Joe May and actress Mia May.
