Mala Records
Mala Records was a small U.S. record label founded in 1959 as a subsidiary of Bell Records. In 1967, Mala’s releases were issued on Bell instead of under the Mala name. In the late 1960s, Columbia Pictures bought Mala and Bell and merged them with Amy Records to form Bell Records. In 1974, Mala’s catalog and Bell Records joined Arista Records, which was bought by BMG in 1979 and is now owned by Sony Music.
