Glyn Milburn
Glyn Milburn is a former American football player who was a running back and return specialist in the NFL for nine seasons. He was born on February 19, 1971, in Los Angeles, California. Milburn played college football at Stanford after spending time at the University of Oklahoma, and he was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 1993 NFL draft (43rd overall).
Milburn’s NFL career included the Denver Broncos (1993–1995), the Detroit Lions (1996–1997), the Green Bay Packers (1998 preseason), and the Chicago Bears (1998–2001). He also played for the San Diego Chargers in 2001. He later served as General Manager and Director of Player Personnel for the Austin Wranglers of the Arena Football League (2004–2008).
Milburn was known for his return skills and big moments. He set the NFL single-game all-purpose yards record with 404 yards on December 10, 1995. He became the Chicago Bears’ all-time kickoff return leader with 4,596 yards (a record later surpassed). He earned two Pro Bowl selections (1995 and 1999) and was named first-team All-Pro in 1999. He led the NFL in kickoff return yards in 1998.
In college, Milburn earned several honors: first-team All-American in 1992, the Pop Warner Trophy in 1992, and first-team All-Pac-10 selections in 1990 and 1992 (second-team in 1991). He tied the Broncos’ playoff record for kickoff returns with six in a 1994 game against the Los Angeles Raiders.
Milburn’s career combined playmaking as a running back and a standout returner helped him leave a lasting mark in pro football.
