Tasya Fantasya (2008 TV series)
Tasya Fantasya (transl. Tasya fantasy) is a 2008 Philippine television drama fantasy romance series broadcast on GMA Network. It is based on the 1994 film Tasya Fantasya by Carlo J. Caparas. Directed by Mac Alejandre, the show stars Yasmien Kurdi in the title role. It aired from April 6 to July 13, 2008, totaling 15 episodes, with each episode around 30 minutes. Premise
Tasya is a kind sales assistant at an optical shop who longs for true love. Orphaned at a young age, she is raised by her abusive Aunt Kelay. To escape her harsh reality, Tasya imagines romantic moments with her Prince Charming, Donald, the shop’s handsome model, and her best friend Mateng affectionately nicknames her Tasya Fantasya. Tasya’s life takes a magical turn when a pair of eyeglasses seems to connect her to adventures beyond her dreams.
Production and reception
Executive producer: Mona Coles-Mayuga. The show was produced by GMA Entertainment TV and filmed in Metro Manila using a multiple-camera setup, with a 30-minute running time per episode. Pilot ratings reached 15.7% in Mega Manila households, while the final episode earned 9.5%.
