Where the Wild Roses Grow (film)
Where the Wild Roses Grow is a 2011 Austrian short film directed by Romana Carén. The nine-minute German-language movie follows Yasmina, a young woman who lives a lonely life in the village Angloville after her brother’s early death. One day a mysterious man named Leon arrives and invites her to a picnic in the woods. She takes the risk and discovers a long-hidden treasure. The film stars Katja Benrath as Yasmina. The screenplay was a semi-finalist in the 22nd WriteMovies International Writing Competition, and the film was shown in the Short Film Corner at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.
