Mahogany tree frog (Tlalocohyla loquax) is a small tree frog in the Hylidae family. It is listed as Least Concern by conservation groups.

Where it lives
- Found in Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua
- In habitats like tropical moist forests (lowland and montane), freshwater marshes, pastureland, rural gardens, and even heavily degraded forests as long as there is plant cover
- Threatened by habitat loss, but it can live in many habitats, including protected areas

Size and appearance
- Males: about 33–45 mm; females: about 38–47 mm
- All four feet have webbed skin
- Back is bright yellow with some bright red near the vent and sides
- Can change color: yellow/orange at night, almost white during the day
- Nocturnal (active at night)

Breeding
- Females lay about 250 eggs in deep bodies of water
- Eggs cling to underwater plants
- Tadpoles hatch and swim downward to deeper water
