Joel Abraham
Joel Koshy Abraham, born 13 July 1989 in Changanacherry, Kerala, India, is a New Zealand cricketer who played for Canterbury during the 2011–12 season. A right-handed batsman who bowls leg spin, he appeared in one first-class match and one List A match for Canterbury.
In his first-class debut against Northern Districts, he scored 28 runs with a top score of 27. In his List A debut against Central Districts, he scored 0 runs. Abraham came through Canterbury’s age-group teams from 2004–05 and was among the leading under-23 batsmen in 2010–11. He also played club cricket in England in 2011, setting an East Anglian Premier League record with 221 for Swardeston Cricket Club.
He continued to play for Canterbury A until the end of the 2015–16 season and played for a Canterbury XI against Scotland in 2014–15 while studying commerce at university.
