Mahendra Varsani, also known as Mahendra Samatrai, (born 21 February 1989) is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter who works in Gujarati and Hindi cinema.

He was born in Bhuj, Gujarat, into a Kutchi Leva Patel family. He studied business management at the N. R. Institute of Business Management in Ahmedabad and later pursued studies in London before moving into media and film.

His company is Mahendra Varsani Creation Co. He has been active in the industry since 2010. Notable works include Neelkanth (2012), a film about the childhood of Swaminarayan, and the documentary Sangharsh Gaatha.

He is married to Vanita Samatrai.

Neelkanth gained wide attention, earning numerous awards and nominations for various aspects such as direction, cinematography, screenplay, music and acting. After the film’s success, he continued making advertisements and live performances.

In 2015, he was honored by Gujarat’s Chief Minister Anandiben Patel at the Kutch Carnival in Bhuj.
