F.W. Webb Company
F.W. Webb Company is a private wholesale distributor based in Bedford, Massachusetts, supplying plumbing, heating, HVAC, industrial, commercial, building, and construction products in the Northeast United States. It began in 1866 in Boston as one of the city’s first plumbing wholesalers, founded by John Van Ness Stults. In 1899 Frank W. Webb bought and renamed the Boston branch. Roger Pope acquired the company in 1933, and it has remained in the Pope family for a third generation.
Today, F.W. Webb operates more than 100 locations across nine Northeastern states and runs about 50 Frank Webb Home showrooms for retail customers. The company serves contractors, builders, and industrial clients with a broad product line that includes plumbing, HVAC/R, waterworks, fire protection, refrigeration, pumps, process controls, propane equipment, and specialized components. It also offers building and process controls, ductwork, water systems, sanitary piping, and fabrication services.
In addition to wholesale, the company serves retail customers at its Frank Webb Home Showrooms, which feature product displays to help customers choose. F.W. Webb sponsors sports teams such as the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees, and supports causes like Boston Children’s Hospital and Bring Back the Trades. As of 2024, the company employed over 3,300 people and generated about $2.3 billion in revenue.
