Magni M-18 Spartan
The Magni M-18 Spartan is a small Italian autogyro built by Magni Gyro srl in Besnate. It was sold as a kit for amateur builders or as a complete ready-to-fly aircraft. It was the smallest autogyro offered by the company. The M-18 has a single main rotor and a single-seat open cockpit with a windshield, plus tricycle landing gear with wheel pants. It uses a pusher-configured Rotax 582 engine delivering 64 hp. The fuselage is made from TIG-welded 4130 steel tubing, and the cockpit fairing is fiberglass. The rotor is 7.30 m in diameter with a 22 cm chord. It employs a three-bladed carbon-fiber, ground-adjustable propeller. The fuel tank holds 35 L. Empty weight is 167 kg, gross weight 300 kg, giving a useful load of 133 kg. Production was listed around 2011, but by 2013 it was no longer advertised, and production was completed in 2013.
