Mýflug
Mýflug, also known as Myflug Air, was an Icelandic airline founded in 1985 and based in Reykjahlíð, Iceland. It specialized in ambulance (medevac) flights, charter work, and sightseeing trips. The fleet included two Beechcraft Super King Air planes for charter and medevac flights and a Cessna 206 for charter work. Its main bases were Reykjavík Airport and Mývatn Airport (Reykjahlíð), with Akureyri Airport as a secondary hub. The airline’s focus was emergency medical flights across Iceland, and it also ran summer sightseeing tours around Lake Mývatn.
In 2023 Mýflug acquired Eagle Air, and the two airlines merged under the Mýflug name, with Eagle Air winding up. Mýflug took over Eagle Air’s remaining route from Reykjavík to Höfn, a government-subsidised essential air service. In October 2024 Mýflug won a government contract for seasonal winter flights to Vestmannaeyjar (Vestmannaeyjar) from December to February for 2024–2027.
In April 2025 Mýflug stopped its remaining scheduled services to Höfn and Vestmannaeyjar, with Norlandair taking over those routes. By June 2025 the airline had ended all flight operations after about 40 years in service.
