The 1992–93 UEFA Champions League first round was the opening knockout stage of the competition, featuring 32 teams. It ran from 16 September to 9 October 1992, and the 16 winners moved on to the second round. All times listed are CET/CEST.

Format and draws
- The ties were played over two legs, with each team hosting one leg.
- The team with the higher aggregate score advanced.
- If the aggregate score was level, the away goals rule applied: the team with more away goals advanced.
- If away goals were also equal, extra time was played, and the away goals rule could still decide the winner. If no goals were scored in extra time, a penalty shoot-out decided the tie.
- The first round draw took place on 15 July 1992 in Geneva, Switzerland. The 32 teams were split into seeded and unseeded pots, each with 16 teams.
