Rick Vasko
Richard John Vasko (born January 12, 1957) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He played in the National Hockey League for the Detroit Red Wings. Born in St. Catharines, Ontario, he stood 6 feet tall and weighed about 200 pounds.
As a youth, Vasko played in the 1970 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a team from Cedar Hill, Toronto. He was drafted 37th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1977 NHL Draft and 53rd overall by the Indianapolis Racers in the 1977 WHA Draft.
Vasko’s professional career lasted from 1977 to 1982, and he played 31 regular-season games for Detroit over three seasons.
