Who played
- Men, women, and mixed doubles teams that had qualified for the 2020/2021 World Curling Championships but not yet for the Olympics, plus teams from a November pre-qualification.
- The top three nations in the men's and women's events earned Olympic spots; the top two nations in mixed doubles earned Olympic spots.

- Men: Denmark, Italy, Norway
- Women: Great Britain, Japan, South Korea
- Mixed doubles: Australia, United States
Sponsorship issue
- During the mixed doubles event, some broadcasters canceled live streaming after a Dutch sponsor’s logo appeared on the ice. Ads were later replaced with the message #equalityforall for the other games.
Final playoff for remaining Olympic spots (women’s event)
- Three teams—Japan, South Korea, and Latvia—entered playoffs to decide the last two Beijing 2022 spots.
- The second- and third-placed teams (South Korea and Japan) played the first qualifier; the winner advanced to Beijing.
- The loser then played Latvia in a second qualifier; the winner grabbed the final Olympic berth.
