2nd Armoured-Mechanized Battalion "Pume" (Croatia)
The 2nd Armoured-Mechanized Battalion "Pume" is a Croatian Army mechanized infantry unit. It has been active since 2007 and is part of the Guards Armoured Mechanized Brigade (GOMBR). The battalion is based at the 7th Guards Brigade "Puma" Barracks in Varaždin and is one of two mechanized infantry battalions in GOMBR. Its Croatian name is 2. oklopno-mehanizirana bojna "Pume", and its nicknames are "Pumas" or "Pume."
Formation and role
The battalion was formed in 2007 by merging Croatia’s wartime 7th Guards Brigade "Pumas" and 2nd Guards Brigade "Thunders." Its role is mechanized infantry, providing mobile, armored-capable troops.
Organisation
The unit includes three mechanized companies, plus a command company, a logistics company, and a fire support company.
