Lyceum of the Philippines University – Cavite
Lyceum of the Philippines University – Cavite (LPU Cavite) is a private, non-sectarian higher education campus of Lyceum of the Philippines University. It is located in General Trias, Cavite, Philippines, and began operating in June 2008 as the fifth LPU campus after Manila, Makati, Batangas, and Laguna.
History and programs
- When it opened, LPU Cavite offered several colleges: Allied Medical Sciences; Arts and Sciences; Business Administration; Engineering, Computer Studies and Architecture; International Tourism and Hospitality Management; and Law.
- In 2012, the campus expanded with Phase II, adding more floors that connected two buildings and hosting the Roman Catholic Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
- In 2013, LPU Cavite established its College of Law, supervised by LPU Makati, making Cavite home to the first law school in the province.
Accreditations and recognition
- LPU Cavite is ISO 9001:2008 certified (Quality Management System).
- Four programs — Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Liberal Arts, and Science — earned Level 3 Re-accreditation from the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). Other programs hold Level 1 or 2 accreditations.
Campus life and details
- Colors: red and gray; nickname: Pirates; mascot: Pipo the Pirate; campus is urban.
- The campus publishes The Laurel Leaf and participates in sports with affiliations including NCAA (Philippines) South, WNCAA, ISAA, and Premier V-League.
- Student body: about 10,500 students.
