LiveQuartz
LiveQuartz is a simple macOS raster graphics editor created by Romain Piveteau. It was first released on May 2, 2005. The program is written in Objective-C and Swift and is proprietary software for macOS. Each document opens in a single window with a layers pane and filters on both sides, tools at the top, and document settings or a status bar at the bottom. LiveQuartz supports layers-based editing, non-destructive filters and selections, and painting and retouching tools. It was among the first public raster editors built on Core Image. In its early days, the beta was named iMage, and it stood out for using Mac OS X Tiger frameworks Core Image and Core Data, along with a unique single-window interface without traditional palettes. The interface is prepared for Retina displays, with future improvements planned for Retina image editing.
