Uttarakhand is a state in India’s Himalayas. In the northern part of the state lie many of the world’s highest mountains. Many peaks remain unclimbed or unnamed. Several peaks are not open to climbers because the area borders China. The list below highlights Uttarakhand’s highest peaks above 6,000 meters: 2 peaks exceed 7,500 m, 13 peaks exceed 7,000 m, 89 peaks exceed 6,500 m, and at least 100 peaks exceed 6,000 m.
