List of core-based statistical areas

Content sourced from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.

Core-based statistical areas (CBSAs) are used to group counties that share an urban core and strong economic ties. A CBSA includes one or more adjacent counties with an urban core of at least 10,000 people, plus nearby areas that are closely connected culturally and economically, as shown by commuting patterns.

There are 935 CBSAs in the United States and 10 in Puerto Rico. US CBSAs are divided into:
- 393 metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) with an urban core of 50,000 or more
- 542 micropolitan statistical areas (μSAs) with an urban core of 10,000 to less than 50,000

The article provides sortable tables listing all US CBSAs and all Puerto Rico CBSAs, including details such as the core city, population, and how many CBSAs each state has.
