List of NCAA Division II ice hockey programs

Six schools sponsor men’s ice hockey at NCAA Division II. The current D-II arrangement is a result of NCAA rules that prevent Division II schools from participating in Division III tournaments, which would otherwise grant automatic bids. Because only six schools compete at the D-II level, there is no NCAA Division II men’s hockey tournament as of 2025. Stonehill left D-II in July 2022 to join Division I’s Northeast Conference. American International left Division I hockey in 2025 and plans to compete in Division II in the future, which would bring the total to seven, but it will not field a team for the 2025–26 season. The D-II teams used to play in Division III conferences until 2009 and have played in their conference tournaments since 2000.
