Irai is a small commune in the Orne department in Normandy, north-western France. It covers about 115 square kilometers and had 603 residents in 2023, giving a density of around 41 people per square kilometer. The landscape is hilly, with elevations from 203 to 273 meters above sea level, averaging about 230 meters.

Administratively, Irai is in the Mortagne-au-Perche arrondissement and the Tourouvre au Perche canton. It is part of the Pays de l'Aigle community of communes. The mayor for 2020–2026 is Jean-Luc Beaufils.

Irai is one of about 70 communes sharing part of a large Natura 2000 conservation area called Forêts et étangs du Perche, which covers about 47,681 hectares.
