LibreOffice Draw
LibreOffice Draw is a free, open‑source vector graphics editor that is part of the LibreOffice suite. Made by The Document Foundation, Draw lets you create diagrams, flowcharts, technical drawings, posters, and photo collections using shapes, straight and curved lines, polygons, and other drawing tools. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, with community builds for other platforms. Draw’s graphics are saved in the Open Document Format (.odg), a standard file format for long‑term access.
The app includes handy features like spell check, autocorrect, a thesaurus, hyphenation, and color replacement, plus a gallery of shapes to choose from. It also supports small programs (macros) written in Java and offers configurable XML filters for opening and saving files.
Many reviewers view Draw as a strong free alternative to paid diagram tools such as Visio. It’s generally praised for its feature set and integration with the rest of LibreOffice, though some users have noted occasional slowdowns or freezes with certain tasks or formats.
LibreOffice Draw is cross‑platform and works well with other LibreOffice apps. There’s an online version (LibreOffice Online) and collaborations with Collabora that bring apps to mobile and other environments.
