Blue started writing songs as a teen and studied at Beacon School, then the Professional Children’s School, before attending NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. In 2019 she signed with Island Records and released her debut EP, Songs For Boys That Didn’t Text Me Back. The EP features the viral song What A Shame, which became popular on TikTok and was especially successful in Brazil, earning triple platinum and diamond certifications from Pro-Musica Brasil. In October 2020 she released Fuck Yourself, a feminist song inspired by the Me Too movement, and performed it in New York. Later that year she released Company with a self-made music video filmed during quarantine. In early 2022 she released her first single as an independent artist, Hot One, featuring Baby Tate and Rei Ami, after leaving Island Records.
