Alburnus sarmaticus Freyhof & Kottelat, 2007 is a species of ray-finned fish in the carp family Leuciscidae. It is listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List (IUCN 3.1). This fish is found in several European rivers: the Southern Bug, the Dnieper, and the Danube (in Romania, Ukraine, and Bulgaria); and the Kolpa River, an upper tributary of the Sava in Croatia and Slovenia. The Danube population has almost disappeared, and the species may now survive only in the Kolpa River.
