Leslie Greentree
Leslie Greentree is a Canadian poet, writer, and editor. She was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta, and studied at the University of Lethbridge, where she earned a BA and a BEd. She lives in Edmonton and works at the St. Albert Public Library, while also doing freelance writing. Her first poetry book, Guys Named Bill, appeared in 2002, followed by Go-Go Dancing for Elvis in 2003. She won the CBC Poetry Face-off for Calgary in 2004 and competed in the National Face-off. Go-Go Dancing for Elvis was shortlisted for the Griffin Poetry Prize in 2004. In 2006 she published A Minor Planet for You, a collection of short stories, and won the Alberta Literary Awards Howard O’Hagan prize for best book of short fiction in 2007. Her first play, Oral Fixations, co-written with Blaine Newton, premiered in October 2014, produced by Ignition Theatre in Red Deer, Alberta.
