Lena Svedberg (26 April 1946 – 1 July 1972) was a Swedish artist. She was born in Gothenburg and grew up in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where her father worked as an economic adviser. She studied at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm in the 1960s. She worked with Carl Johan De Geer and Lars Hillersberg on the underground magazine Puss. Her drawings and paintings are often described as mysterious and a bit strange. She often depicted African children with large, begging eyes and satirical portraits of politicians. She spoke out against consumerism and power in society. She used drugs and had several illnesses. She died by suicide in Stockholm on 1 July 1972, jumping from a fifth-floor window.
