Legenere
Legenere is a genus in the bellflower family with a single species, Legenere limosa. It is an annual wildflower native to a few areas in Northern California. Common names: false Venus’s looking glass and Greene’s legenere. The plant has reclining stems 10–30 cm long, with rigid side branches. It blooms in May and June in moist habitats below 610 meters, especially vernal pools. Major populations are in Solano, Sacramento, Lake, Napa, Sonoma, Tehama, and Yuba counties. The California Native Plant Society lists Legenere limosa as rare and endangered (seriously endangered). Primary threats are grazing, invasive species, and development.
