La Victoria is a city in the state of Aragua, Venezuela. It is the capital of José Félix Ribas Municipality and was founded in 1620. The city covers about 55 square kilometers and sits at an elevation of 550 meters. In 2011, about 143,500 people lived there.

La Victoria is famous for the Battle of La Victoria on February 12, 1814, when José Félix Ribas led a young army to stop the royalist forces of José Tomás Boves. Every February 12, Venezuela celebrates Youth Day in La Victoria.

In 1902, La Victoria was the site of a siege during the Liberating Revolution, when General Manuel Antonio Matos tried to overthrow Cipriano Castro’s government. The fighting lasted from October 11 to November 2, and many lives were lost. With help from General Leopoldo Baptista and Vice President Juan Vicente Gómez, Castro’s government prevailed.
