Måsøya
Måsøya is an island in Måsøy Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. It covers about 13.5 square kilometers (5.2 square miles). The island is about 6 kilometers long and 4.5 kilometers wide, with its highest point, Hollendaren, at 290 meters (950 feet).
Måsøya lies west of the large island Magerøya and east of Hjelmsøya and Havøya. The Porsanger Peninsula on the mainland is to the south.
You can reach Måsøya only by boat; there is a regular ferry from Havøysund. About 40 people lived there in 2012. The only settlement is the small fishing village of Måsøy, located on the southern part of the island on a narrow isthmus between two fjords.
Måsøy was once the administrative center of the municipality, and Måsøy Church is there. A herd of about 40 reindeer lives on the island. The Norwegian minister and poet Magnus Brostrup Landstad was born in Måsøya.
