Kylian Mbappé Lottin, born December 20, 1998, in Paris, is a French football forward who plays for Real Madrid and captains the France national team. He is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world, known for his speed, dribbling, and sharp finishing.

Growing up in Bondy near Paris, Mbappé trained with his father, Wilfrid, who coached him, and his mother, Fayza Lamari. He showed exceptional talent from a young age and moved through the youth systems before breaking into senior football with Monaco. In the 2016–17 season, he helped Monaco win Ligue 1 and became one of Europe’s most talked-about teenagers.

Mbappé joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 on a loan with a mandatory purchase option of about €180 million, making him the most expensive teenager ever at the time. At PSG, he grew into a club legend, helping the team win multiple Ligue 1 titles and domestic cups. He was PSG’s top scorer for several seasons and played a key role in their run to the 2020 UEFA Champions League final. In 2022, he signed a new contract with PSG, reportedly making him one of the world’s highest-paid players. After a final season with PSG in 2023–24, he moved to Real Madrid on a free transfer in 2024.

His first season with Real Madrid was a sensational success. He won the La Liga top scorer award (the Pichichi) and the European Golden Shoe, and helped Real Madrid win trophies in his debut year. He was also named Real Madrid’s Player of the Season.

Mbappé has been a regular for France since 2017. He was a standout at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, becoming the youngest French player to score at a World Cup and helping France win the title. He won the World Cup Best Young Player award that year. In 2022, he starred again, scoring a hat-trick in the World Cup final and earning the Golden Boot for the tournament. He has since become one of France’s all-time leading scorers and was named captain of the national team ahead of UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers.

A versatile forward, Mbappé can operate as a winger or a central striker. He is renowned for his pace, sharp dribbling, timing of runs, and clinical finishing. He has broken several records for PSG and has set records for France as he climbed the all-time scorers’ lists.

Off the pitch, Mbappé has endorsements with Nike and Dior, among others. He has been open about the sacrifices required to reach the top and remains active in charitable efforts and promoting sport in Africa. His influence extends beyond his goals, making him a defining figure in football today.
