Rochefort-sur-Loire
Rochefort-sur-Loire is a small town in western France. It is a commune in the Maine-et-Loire department, in the Pays de la Loire region, and in the Arrondissement of Angers. The name means “Rochefort on Loire” and the river Layon runs through the area. The commune covers about 128 square kilometers and had around 2,333 residents in 2023. Elevation ranges from 12 to 104 meters. The postal code is 49190 and the INSEE code is 49259. Residents are called Rochefortais or Rochefortaise. The current mayor (2022–2026) is Didier Le Gall. Rochefort-sur-Loire is part of the Loire Layon Aubance intercommunality.
