Kirkja is a small village on Fugloy, one of the Faroe Islands in the Kingdom of Denmark. It sits at the southern tip of the island and stretches along the western coast, with a tiny enclave in Skarðsvík. The name means “church” (Kirkja) and “bird island” (Fugloy). About 30 people live there (as of April 2025).

Getting there:
- A road built in the 1980s connects Kirkja to the rest of the island.
- A ferry links Kirkja with Hattarvík and to Hvannasund on the larger island of Viðoy.
- In recent decades, helicopters have started serving routes from Vágar Airport to Tórshavn or Klaksvík, providing another way to reach Kirkja.
