Martinelli's
Martinelli's is the brand name of S. Martinelli & Company, a family‑owned juice and cider maker in Watsonville, California. The company was founded in 1868 in the Pajaro Valley by brothers Stepheno and Luigi Martinelli. Stepheno, who had learned champagne‑making in France, started by turning apples from Luigi's farm into cider. Martinelli's is best known for its non‑alcoholic sparkling apple cider and apple juice, and it has also produced sparkling hard cider. The recipe won a gold medal at the 1890 California State Fair. It remains a fifth‑generation family business as of 2021, and it offers other juice brands as well. A street in Watsonville bears the Martinelli name.
