Kinetic theTechnologyAgency
Kinetic theTechnologyAgency is a software company based in Louisville, Kentucky. It began in 1968 as Kinetic Corporation, a commercial photography studio founded by Ray Schuhmann. The business grew into photography and graphics, and in the 1970s it became known for advertising photography with an on-site lab. Schuhmann has been the official photographer and archivist of the Kentucky Derby for about 50 years. In the 1990s, Kinetic started building custom internet applications, and in 2000 it shifted its focus from photography to software and technology services. Today, most of its revenue comes from software licensing, support, and digital services, including The Globalizor™ translation management system. The company is located in Distillery Commons in Louisville. In 2011, Kinetic expanded its staff fourfold to meet growing software demand. In 2013, Kinetic joined with Foxiz B.V. of the Netherlands to expand adoption and support of its translation software in Europe.
