Greatest Hits (Billy Idol album)
Greatest Hits is a compilation album by Billy Idol, released by Capitol Records on March 27, 2001. It gathers Idol’s most popular singles from 1981 to 1993 and adds two bonus tracks: a live acoustic version of “Rebel Yell” recorded in 1993 (originally a B-side for “Speed” in 1994) and a new version of Keith Forsey’s “Don’t You (Forget About Me).” Forsey, Idol’s longtime producer, originally wrote the song with Idol in mind, but Idol declined, and the track went to Simple Minds, becoming a worldwide hit in 1985. Greatest Hits was certified platinum by the RIAA in 2005.
