Kibi Line
Kibi Line, also known as the Momotaro Line on JR West maps, is a rail line in Okayama Prefecture, Japan. It is operated by JR West and runs 20.4 km from Okayama to Sōja, serving 10 stations. The line is entirely single-track and not electrified, using KiHa 40 and KiHa 47 diesel trains.
It opened on November 11, 1904. In 1944 it was nationalized and became part of Japanese National Railways, and after privatization in 1987 it came under JR West. Since March 26, 2016, the line has been branded the Momotaro Line. The name Kibi comes from the historic Kibi Province, and the Momotaro nickname is linked to the famous local legend and the dish kibi dango.
