Kevin Scott Nash (born July 9, 1959) is an American former professional wrestler, actor, and podcaster. He’s best known for his work in WCW, WWF/WWE, and TNA, and is currently signed to WWE on a legends contract.

Early life and career beginnings
Nash was born in Detroit, Michigan. His father died when he was eight, and his mother passed away in 1994. He played basketball at the University of Tennessee before attempting to transfer; his pro career took him to Europe, where a knee injury ended his playing days in 1981. He then joined the U.S. Army (1981–1983) in Germany as a Specialist. After the army, he worked at Ford and as a floor manager of a strip club before pursuing professional wrestling.

Wrestling career highlights
Nash started in WCW in 1990 under several ring names, including Steel, The Master Blaster, Oz, and Vinnie Vegas. He joined the WWF in 1993 as Diesel, a powerful bodyguard to Shawn Michaels, and won the Intercontinental, Tag Team, and WWF World Championships (he holds the 1990s’ longest reign as WWF Champion). In 1996 he jumped to WCW, forming The Outsiders with Scott Hall and helping launch the New World Order (nWo), one of wrestling’s most famous angles. He was WCW World Heavyweight Champion four times and WCW World Tag Team Champion nine times, and led the Wolfpac faction for a period. Nash returned to the WWF in 2002 and later competed in TNA from 2004 to 2010, where he also won titles. He retired from in-ring competition in 2020 but has made occasional appearances since.

Other work and public life
Nash has acted in films such as The Punisher (as The Russian) and appeared in the Magic Mike films, as well as John Wick. He has a weekly podcast, Kliq This, launched in 2022. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015 and again in 2020 as a member of the nWo.

Personal life
Nash married Tamara McMichael in 1988. They have one son, Tristen, born in 1996, who died in October 2022. Nash has supported brain research for CTE and has described himself as a centrist Democrat, publicly backing Kamala Harris in 2024. He has faced legal issues, including a 2011 battery arrest (charges were later dropped) and a 2014 incident involving his son, with no charges filed in 2015.

Nash remains a influential figure in wrestling history for helping popularize the nWo and for his long, multi-faceted career across major wrestling promotions and beyond.
