Kesli is a small town in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is the tehsil headquarters and a development block. Located at 23.42°N 78.80°E, Kesli is about 65 km from the district capital Sagar and 35 km from Deori. The area has forests with teak and tendu leaves, and the Sunar River originates here. In 2011, Kesli town had 8,586 residents (4,501 men and 4,085 women) and a literacy rate of 81.53%, higher than the state average of 69.32%. The town has a police station, a community hospital, and banking services. A weekly market is held on Thursdays. Kesli is connected by road to Sagar and Deori via State Highway 30. The economy is mainly farming and dairy, with forest products also contributing. Principal crops are wheat, paddy, and corn. There are small stone crushers and a rice mill in the area. Kesli serves as a regional hub for daily-use goods and grain trading. Educational institutions include Government College, Kesli, Government Boys and Government Girls schools, along with several private schools and colleges.
