Kentucky's 9th Senate district

Kentucky's 9th State Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Kentucky Senate. It sits in the southern part of the state and includes Barren, Edmonson, Green, Hart counties and part of Warren County. Republican David P. Givens of Greensburg has represented the district since 2009.

The district’s population was 124,178 in 2023. As of January 1, 2025, there were 87,050 registered voters, with about 52.6% registered Republican, 37.9% Democratic, and 8.8% with no party preference.

Demographics are about 82.7% White, 6.0% Black, 5.7% Hispanic, 1.5% Asian, 0.1% Native American, 0.3% Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, 3.7% Other, with multiracial residents making up the rest.
