Kenneth Davis (basketball)
Kenneth Bryan Davis (born September 12, 1948) is a former American basketball player from Slat, Kentucky. He played high school basketball at Wayne County in Monticello, Kentucky, and college basketball at Georgetown College (1967–1971), where he earned two NAIA First-Team All-American honors (1970, 1971). Davis was a 5'11" point guard who weighed 181 pounds.
He had a brief stint with the Marathon Oil AAU team before being drafted by the New York Knicks in the 11th round of the 1971 NBA Draft (181st overall). He never played in the NBA.
Davis captained the United States men's basketball team at the 1972 Munich Olympics. After the controversial finish in the gold medal game, the U.S. team refused to accept the silver medals. He reportedly arranged in his will that his wife and children may not accept the medal after his death.
After basketball, Davis worked as a sales representative for Converse for about 39 years and became a motivational speaker. He resides in Garrard County, Kentucky.
