Kelly Liken
Kelly Liken (born August 29, 1976) is an American chef and restaurant owner from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who now lives in Vail, Colorado. She trained at the Culinary Institute of America, graduating first in her class. After working in Virginia and Colorado, she moved to Colorado in 2002 to work at Splendido at the Chateau in Beaver Creek, where she met Rick Colomitz. In 2004 she opened Restaurant Kelly Liken in Vail and married Colomitz the same year; he served as general manager and wine director. The restaurant closed in 2015. In June 2016 she opened Harvest Vail in Edwards, Colorado.
Liken has appeared on television shows including Bravo’s Top Chef D.C. and Iron Chef America on the Food Network, and on CBS This Morning. She visited the White House in April 2011, two months after First Lady Michelle Obama dined at her restaurant.
She is a founder of the Sowing Seeds Program with the Vail Valley Youth Foundation, which teaches children how foods grow and promotes healthy eating, including a greenhouse project at Brush Creek Elementary School. She also supports the Vail Jazz Foundation, hosting events with them.
