Kato Souli Naval Transmission Facility
Kato Souli Naval Transmission Facility is a Greek Navy site that sends messages to submarines using low-frequency radio. It is located at Kato Souli near Marathon, Greece, and began operation in 1989. The main antenna is a 250-meter-tall guyed mast with an umbrella antenna, the tallest structure in Greece. The site covers about 260 hectares (650 acres). Nearby there used to be a US Navy shortwave transmitter site.
